Pixel 8a repair: the practical version
Plastic back means rear breaks are rare; the screen is the job, and it is the least expensive Pixel screen after the 9a. Thicker bezels give the glass a little protection. Charging port is soldered to a small daughterboard and is a quick swap.

True Tone is preserved by transferring the original sensor data, and Face ID is untouched because its hardware lives in the phone, not the screen.
