How Apple desktops are repaired
iMacs from 2012 onward have the display glued to the chassis, so every repair starts by cutting the display adhesive and finishes by resealing it with new tape; we do this routinely. Intel iMacs take SSD upgrades that make them dramatically faster, and 2019 and earlier models take memory. Apple silicon Macs have soldered storage, so data recovery from a dead machine is board-level work. Mac mini and Mac Studio are simpler to open and take SSD or memory work where the model allows.
Compared with other 2023 models
The Mac Studio (M2 Max / M2 Ultra, 2023) is one of 4 Apple desktops from 2023 with a page here. Compare the iMac 24-inch (M3, 2023) (display: 24-inch 4.5K Retina; chip: Apple M3), the Mac Pro (M2 Ultra, 2023) (chip: Apple M2 Ultra; slots: PCIe expansion), the Mac mini (M2 / M2 Pro, 2023) (chip: Apple M2 or M2 Pro; ports: Thunderbolt 4, HDMI, USB-A). Parts are usually not interchangeable between these models even when they look alike, so tell us exactly which one you have when you book.

Questions
Mac Studio (M2 Max / M2 Ultra, 2023) repair FAQ
How much does a Mac Studio (M2 Max / M2 Ultra, 2023) repair cost?
We quote after a free diagnostic and before any work starts, because the price depends on the part. Every repair carries a one-year warranty and our low-price guarantee, and we tell you honestly if a repair is not worth it against the value of the desktop.
How long does a Mac Studio (M2 Max / M2 Ultra, 2023) repair take?
Same day when the part is stocked, and 3 to 5 business days when it is ordered. Board-level work and data recovery take longer; we give you the timeline before we start.
Will I lose my data?
No. Screens, batteries, ports, keyboards and most board work leave your data alone. Drive replacements include cloning your old drive when it is readable, and we tell you first if anything would be lost.
