What to know before a Apple repair
MacBook screens are replaced as complete lid assemblies, which keeps the job clean; Retina panels are ordered and the common ones stocked. Batteries on 2016 and later models are glued into the top case and take a few hours to replace properly. Butterfly keyboards on 2016 to 2019 models fail often and are replaced with the top case. Apple silicon models have soldered storage, so data recovery from a dead machine is board-level work we do in house. The 2016 to 2020 Pro’s Flexgate display cable fault is repairable.
