What we fix
PlayStation Portal repairs
Sony · 2023 · console
On the bench: PlayStation Portal
Sticks drift like a DualSense and are replaced. The 8-inch LCD is ordered and replaced with the front. Battery is glued and replaced from the back.
How Sony game consoles are repaired
PS5 HDMI ports are the number one console repair we do; the port is soldered to the board and replaced under the microscope. Overheating from dried liquid metal on the PS5’s processor is repairable. DualSense stick drift is fixed with Hall-effect or replacement sticks. Disc drives on the PS5 and PS5 Slim are modular. PS4 Pro fans and power supplies are the usual older-console jobs.
Compared with other 2023 models
The PlayStation Portal is one of 3 Sony game consoles from 2023 with a page here. Compare the PlayStation 5 Slim (type: Home console; storage: 1TB SSD), the DualSense Edge (type: Pro controller; sticks: Swappable modules). Parts are usually not interchangeable between these models even when they look alike, so tell us exactly which one you have when you book.
Turnaround
Same day when the part is in stock; 3 to 5 business days when it is ordered. We tell you which before you leave the console with us.

Questions
PlayStation Portal repair FAQ
How much does a PlayStation Portal repair cost?
We quote after a free diagnostic and before any work starts, because the price depends on the part. Every repair carries a one-year warranty and our low-price guarantee, and we tell you honestly if a repair is not worth it against the value of the console.
How long does a PlayStation Portal repair take?
Same day when the part is stocked, and 3 to 5 business days when it is ordered. Board-level work and data recovery take longer; we give you the timeline before we start.
Will I lose my data?
No. Screens, batteries, ports, keyboards and most board work leave your data alone. Drive replacements include cloning your old drive when it is readable, and we tell you first if anything would be lost.
