How Lenovo laptops are repaired
ThinkPads are built for service and are the quickest laptops we repair: keyboards, batteries, SSDs and screens all come out with a few screws. IdeaPads are consumer-grade with glued batteries on some models and plastic hinges that crack. Yoga 2-in-1 hinges and their cables are replaceable. Legion laptops need thermal service every few years and have replaceable keyboards.
Compared with other 2024 models
The ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 12 is one of 4 Lenovo laptops from 2024 with a page here. Compare the ThinkPad X1 2-in-1 Gen 9 (display: 14-inch touch, 360-degree hinge; pen: Garaged), the ThinkPad T14 Gen 5 (display: 14-inch LCD; chip: Intel Core Ultra or Ryzen), the ThinkPad T14s Gen 5 (display: 14-inch LCD; chip: Intel Core Ultra or Snapdragon). Parts are usually not interchangeable between these models even when they look alike, so tell us exactly which one you have when you book.

Questions
ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 12 repair FAQ
How much does a ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 12 repair cost?
We quote after a free diagnostic and before any work starts, because the price depends on the part. Every repair carries a one-year warranty and our low-price guarantee, and we tell you honestly if a repair is not worth it against the value of the laptop.
How long does a ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 12 repair take?
Same day when the part is stocked, and 3 to 5 business days when it is ordered. Board-level work and data recovery take longer; we give you the timeline before we start.
Will I lose my data?
No. Screens, batteries, ports, keyboards and most board work leave your data alone. Drive replacements include cloning your old drive when it is readable, and we tell you first if anything would be lost.
