On the bench: Alienware x16 R1
Thin chassis with dense cooling; repaste with the correct thermal pads. Screen ordered, battery accessible.
How Dell laptops are repaired
Dell laptops are among the easiest to service: bottom panels come off with screws, batteries and SSDs are replaceable on nearly every model, and Dell publishes part numbers that make ordering exact. XPS screens are bonded and pricier; Inspiron screens are inexpensive and often stocked. DC jacks on older Inspirons wear and are on their own cable. Alienware and G series run hot and need thermal paste and fan service after a few years.
Compared with other 2023 models
The Alienware x16 R1 is one of 4 Dell laptops from 2023 with a page here. Compare the Dell Inspiron 16 (5630) (display: 16-inch LCD, 16:10; chip: Intel Core 13th gen), the Dell Inspiron 15 (3530) (display: 15.6-inch LCD; chip: Intel Core 13th gen), the Dell Latitude 5540 (display: 15.6-inch LCD; chip: Intel Core 13th gen). Parts are usually not interchangeable between these models even when they look alike, so tell us exactly which one you have when you book.

Questions
Alienware x16 R1 repair FAQ
How much does a Alienware x16 R1 repair cost?
We quote after a free diagnostic and before any work starts, because the price depends on the part. Every repair carries a one-year warranty and our low-price guarantee, and we tell you honestly if a repair is not worth it against the value of the laptop.
How long does a Alienware x16 R1 repair take?
Same day when the part is stocked, and 3 to 5 business days when it is ordered. Board-level work and data recovery take longer; we give you the timeline before we start.
Will I lose my data?
No. Screens, batteries, ports, keyboards and most board work leave your data alone. Drive replacements include cloning your old drive when it is readable, and we tell you first if anything would be lost.
